Description/Overview:
             The first ever man-made mass-produced faster than light spacecraft was the UN Solar Empire’s Conqueror class Space Missile Destroyer.  This class of ship was designed and constructed at the UN base on the planetoid Pallas throughout 2073 and later at the Deimos and Phobos orbital shipyards around Mars.  This class of ship was produced in large numbers for an Earth ship of its era and was not a particularly high quality machine.  The vast majority of these ships were built for the UN invasion of the Earth sphere during “Operation Blitzkrieg.” Some six hundred and fifty of these ships participated in that operation and all were eventually destroyed or captured during the EFF counterattack. However, the impressive weapons, shields, armor, and FTL engine of the craft gave it an edge that the Earth ships were hard pressed to overcome.
             One of the major drawbacks of the Conqueror class was the ship’s enormous power consumption for a ship of its size. One Hensai Energy HEFR-25K twenty-five thousand megawatt fusion reactor was used to feed the ship’s ravenous power consumption.
             The Conqueror class was the first manmade ship to use a Type-2 intersection drive unit. The unit fitted to this ship was the Pallas Research PRID-T2-350 350-megawatt intersection drive built around the “Dr. Zdhanov” configuration, which was the first Stable-Warp-Field-Generation design or SWFG. This FTL unit had a speed of .12 light years per hour, which gave the ship nearly unlimited range within the Sol system and a realistic range to any star-system within around 100 light years of Sol (a trip of 34.5 days).
              The sublight engines consist of a pair of Eurospace HYIE-7000 High Yield Ion Engines. Each of these engines is capable of propelling the ship at a speed of 152,000 mph each or a combined speed of 304,000 mph. This speed allowed these ships to fly anywhere within the Inner Sphere of the Sol system (or similar star-systems) at a reasonable speed.
             The main armament of the Conqueror class were three Lithgear LG-LC-1002 dual laser cannon turrets; these cannons were identical to those used on the Borodino class battlecruiser. The trio of laser cannon turrets provided the destroyer with adequate anti-warship weaponry with nearly unlimited payload. To complement the laser cannons the destroyer was fitted with six Lithgear LG-CMS-5000 cruise missile launchers. These launchers were functionally identical to the cruise missile launchers of the Boikii class only they used an armored retractable lift system rather than the more vulnerable torpedo tube doors of the Boikii launchers.
             An impressive feature of the Conqueror class were her deflector field generators. The destroyer was outfitted with Cydonia Research CR-DF-1000 deflector field generators that were identical to those of the Borodino class battlecruiser of the original Ironclads. These deflector fields were standard issue to nearly all of the second generation of Ironclad warships of the UN Solar Empire except the Kiev class of battleships.
             Of the two thousand Conqueror class ships built during the 1st Interplanetary War, only a handful survived.  However, after the war, numerous powers, including the USR and Outer Colonies of Sol, reproduced this craft.  The Conqueror was used as a police craft, patrol craft, and scout ship by all of the aforementioned powers throughout the 2080s.  The Conqueror was obsolete by the early 2090s as newer and faster light-speed engines came into service,although many civilian militia and colonial defense forces used the craft well into the 2200s.
